Hello from Dumbarton, Scotland! |
This week has been awesome! We had a ton
of fun! I am just going to share a quick few highlights, and then the rest of
the time was pretty much spent finding! And finding is awesome!!
So most of the week we were in and
around Helensburgh, which is east of Dumbarton. It is a really beautiful town
and it is pretty good for finding since it has a large public square and lots
of waterfront walks. So we spent most of the week there.
The best part of the week was definitely
the weekend though! We went on exchanges with the Zone Leaders in Glasgow City
Center. Holy cow. That was awesome! There were so many flippin people! It was
great! There were occasions where I was shoulder to shoulder with people! It
was so great! I was like, "Hi how are ya? Hi how are ya? Hi how are ya? Hi
how are ya? and so on and so on. It was awesome! I talked to this group of
people from Cork in Ireland after they were like, "Hey mormons!" So I
went over and answered their questions about the church!" Basically taught
the restoration and the plan of salvation and the word of wisdom and the law of
chastity! So that was pretty fun! It was just an energizing day!
So many people, there are other
missionaries, and there were so many cool street performers! It was so
incredible! Tons of bagpipes and stuff! Drums and hipster bands! It was
absolutely amazing! Well, I felt flippin’ mentally exhausted when I finally sat
down at my flat that evening, but it was so worth it! They also sell Krispy Kreme
donuts in the city center, so we of course, had to go for those! It was such an
amazing day!
Then on Sunday, we had 5 investigators
at church! It was awesome! A couple that we have met with came, and then a
family in the ward brought some of their friends as well! We were talking to
them and they said they really enjoyed it, so hopefully we can begin teaching
them and have them come out more often! It was amazing! And then we had an
awesome dinner appointment with this family in the ward, and they had mountains
of food! It was so awesome! There was like 15 people at this dinner! It was so
good! And then we had a good spiritual discussion about cheerfully doing all
that we can do. (D&C 123:17) Just a really solid weekend!
Something that I wanted to share from my
studies is this: It is 3 Nephi 15:9
9 Behold, I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life.
This scripture hit me this morning, and
I think it perfectly sums up what we need to do in the Gospel. If we Look unto
Christ, and we continually strive to come unto Him, we shall live. We shall
have eternal life. Here he is referencing the children of Israel looking at the
brass serpent. Because all they had to do was look, a lot of them died. They
thought it was too easy and they refused to do it. But here he tells us once
more, to look, and save ourselves from spiritual death. His Plan is perfect,
and he will save us!
Love you all!
